Urban Homesteading? Guerilla Gardening? Backyard Farming?

Take your pick. No matter the name, it’s a hot topic. We’re expecting 300 people at the Open Space Backyard Farming workshop tomorrow at the Gutierrez-Hubbell House here in the South Valley. I’ll be teaching Designing Your Urban Homestead from 10-11am.

If you can’t make it south, there’s another cool gardening workshop happening that day. Check out the Gardeners Guild website for more details. There are loads of inspiring events happening in the Duke City.

And for those of you who are looking to join a community garden, I just heard about spaces opening up at two community gardens in town: Downtown Action Buzz Community Garden at 8th & Summer and the Community Garden at The Source in the Ridgecrest/Nob Hill area. Check it out!
